During his infant years, James could be found driving hundreds of miles each Sunday around his family’s living room as he cheered on his favorite driver Richard Petty. For years his passion grew until the age of 10 when his father (Bob Gregait) joined the Kimber-Horn racing team and James
got his first chance to work on a real Stock Car.

Through High School, James excelled in both the classroom and on the football field and upon graduation, was recruited to play football for the Valparaiso University Crusaders. After four years of hard work, James graduated from VU with a degree in Business Marketing and was hired by NASCAR driver Bobby Labonte to work in his sports marketing agency called Breaking Limits. During his time at Breaking Limits, James soaked up all the knowledge he could about motorsports marketing and has applied it to his new role at Kimber-Horn Racing.

In March of 2010, James left his position with Breaking Limits to move back to the Chicagoland area and marry his beautiful wife Nicole. This relocation back to his roots opened up the opportunity to rejoin the Kimber-Horn racing team as a full time member. Late in the 2010 season, Driver and Owner Doug Kimber approached James about the opportunity to drive his Late Model Stock Car for the 2011 season and James jumped at the opportunity.

The 2011 season brought many accomplishments. James and the team finished 7th in the final points standings, tying the teams highest points finish to date. James also captured the Late Model Rookie of the Year in dominating fashion earning the respect of his competitors in the process.

The future looks bright for the Kimber-Horn #7 and James will be battling every Friday night this summer at Grundy County Speedway in 2012.
